​We’re looking for people of all ages and backgrounds who live with type 1 diabetes — children, teens and adults of all genders — to be featured in a photo exhibit in the Atlanta metro area.

The exhibit will showcase real people living with T1D and the medical devices they use every day, with the goal of normalizing the visibility of insulin pumps and CGMs. It will also show that T1D affects people across all age groups and that children do not simply outgrow T1D.

Photo Shoot

The photo shoot will take place on 10/18/2026 from 4–6 PM at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody, Georgia. Participants will be given a specific call time between this time frame.

Exhibit

The finished photographs will be displayed at Dunwoody Gallery on the afternoon of 4/25/2027 for public viewing. We’re grateful they’ve donated their space for the exhibit.

We’re looking for natural, personal images that show people living their everyday lives with T1D. This could include checking blood sugar, showing their devices while holding equipment from a favorite sport, playing an instrument, bringing something that represents their profession or career, or doing something else that reflects who they are. No need to look a certain way, have a particular hobby or come up with a specific idea for a photo — we simply want to capture normal, everyday life with T1D.

The focus of the exhibit is on the people living with T1D and the devices that are part of their everyday lives, rather than promoting a particular medical device or product.

The exhibit is being organized by T1D Women, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Reneé Rayles, Founder & CEO of T1D Women, is organizing the event, and Breakthrough T1D cyclist and advocate Sunnie Devides will be donating his time as our photographer.

This is a non-paid project for participants, with no cost to participate, and the finished exhibit will be free and open to the public. Participants, or a parent/guardian for anyone under 18, will be asked to sign a photo release.
